Suspects sought in shooting

A man was hospitalized in critical condition with wounds of the neck and head last week after a shooting on a Holmesburg street.

Philadelphia police are unsure what sparked the altercation that prompted the gunfire, which occurred Nov. 29 at about 4:13 p.m. on the 7500 block of Torresdale Ave. Officers arrived at the scene to find the 22-year-old victim unconscious and bleeding from his wounds. He was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale and placed on a ventilator, said Officer Tanya Little, a police spokeswoman.

The victim was breathing with the aid of a ventilator on Tuesday, as the Times went to press this week.

Police believe that a relative of the victim’s had been involved in a dispute with a group of men on the block shortly before the shooting.

One suspect was described as black, 19 to 23 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He wore a Navy blue hoodie and dark jeans.

A second suspect was described as white, 20 to 25 years old and 5 feet 11 inches tall. He has short blond hair and a tattoo on his stomach. He wore a black hoodie.

Call Northeast Detectives at 215–686–3153 to report information about the case. ••
